On Friday, March 25, from 5:30-8:30 pm the Wyoming State Museum is going to Party like it's 1872 in honor of Yellowstone's 150th birthday. Yellowstone was our nation's very first National Park, and it’s creation sparked a worldwide national park movement that has preserved miles and miles of our planet’s most beautiful natural wonders for "the benefit and enjoyment of the people."
We can’t think of a better way to celebrate the history and legacy of our beloved Yellowstone than with an after-hours party. We’ll have opportunities to meet researchers and scientists, story time with Yellowstone rangers, crafts, games, trivia, and of course beer! With so many things going on, we’ll need quite a few volunteers to make it happen.
Volunteers will help set up the event, facilitate activity tables and crafts, help with event check-in, run a photo booth, and more! If you’re looking for a fun, high-energy volunteer opportunity, this is for you.
The event consists of two 3 hour shifts which can be combined to one 6 hour shift for those who would like to volunteer for the entire event. Any individual who is passionate about education, the environment, museums, community events, crafts, and FUN should feel encouraged to volunteer. We welcome and appreciate people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities!
Benefits:
This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to develop event skills and help our community become more connected with the museum and its exciting resources. A lunch break (and food) is provided for volunteers who work the entire 6-hour shift. Volunteering in this role may lead to future opportunities working in the museum’s collections, education, and community engagement departments.
