We’re looking for volunteers to participate in an upcoming Waste Characterization Study aimed at better understanding what we throw away and how we can improve recycling and waste reduction efforts in our community. Volunteers will help sort and categorize waste materials at the Landfill / Recycling Center in a safe and supervised environment. All necessary training, equipment and PPE will be provided, but please have a sturdy pair of work boots to wear. Shifts will range from 4 or 8 hours per day, depending on the number of volunteers and you will need to commit to assisting from Tuesday, April 21 – Friday, April 24, plus some additional time for a quick training course.

Vulture Watch Wyoming is for everyone! We encourage you to report any and all Turkey Vulture sightings this spring, summer, and fall—no matter where you are in Wyoming! One of the largest roosts is right on campus at Old Main! Your observations are key to confirming where these birds are nesting and roosting in our state. Turkey vultures are an important part of our environment. They help us by cleaning up the habitats where they live. Vulture Watch Wyoming needs community members (of any skill level) to help report where they are in Wyoming and what they are doing.

The East Mitchell Street - Prairies Edge area is a small area nestled between Emmaus Road Community Church and Prairies Edge Community bending towards U.S. 30.

Once finished, place all filled bags in the designated parking location shown on the map.

Volunteers will hand out lists of Laramie Interfaith's most needed items and collect donations as shoppers leave. Groups are welcome to volunteer together, but please respect the maximum volunteers per location each hour. The primary audience for this opportunity is University of Wyoming student groups, individual students, faculty, and staff. 

The Eppson Center has a monthly newsletter that we deliver to agencies in town to increase awareness about the Center.  There are about 20 or so stops on the route, and it takes approximately two hours to deliver the newsletters to the hospital, doctor's offices, restaurants, dentist offices, and other locations in town. 

Are you a creative, visual storyteller who loves international food?  Do you enjoy spending time downtown with friends?  Want to experience marketing a fun foodie event? 

Laramie Main Street is looking for a social media intern to take the lead in creating engaging online content to market the International Flavor Festival.  Help us reach our target audience, build excitement for the event, share information about participation restaurants, while celebrating the organization, and partnership with the University of Wyoming, that brings it all together. 

The ideal candidate should have experience in Canva and running social media platforms.  Preference will be given to self-motivated, organized  individuals with strong skills who value collaborative team work.

The position is 5-10 flexible hours a week, starting mid  February 2026.  An internship stipend can be made available.

The first display will run through 2/6. The second display will be 2/11 - 3/6 and the third display will be 3/11 through the end of March.

As winds move through the area, litter tends to collect in the trees and open fields—making this an ideal spot for a light cleanup while soaking in the natural beauty Laramie has to offer.

This volunteer cleanup site is heavily littered, primarily due to wind-blown debris from the nearby Wal-Mart property.  the area is scattered with various types of trash, making it a prim location for a dedicated cleanup effort.  Interestingly, alongside the usual litter, volunteers may occasionally find cash among the debris.  Your efforts in restoring this area will make a significant impact on the environment and local community!

This volunteer cleanup site is heavily littered, primarily due to wind-blown debris from the nearby Wal-Mart property.  the area is scattered with various types of trash, making it a prim location for a dedicated cleanup effort.  Interestingly, alongside the usual litter, volunteers may occasionally find cash among the debris.  Your efforts in restoring this area will make a significant impact on the environment and local community!

This volunteer opportunity focuses on cleaning up windblown litter in the open fields near 22nd and Harney Street. The area includes a dog park, which would also benefit from the removal of pet waste to create a cleaner, more inviting space for the community to enjoy. Who we are:
J & J Second Chance Small Holdings & The Goat Ladies is a non-profit rescue in Rock River, WY. We care for more than 250 goats, along with donkeys, ponies, mini cattle, dogs, cats, and birds. Our mission goes beyond rescue — we bring animals and people together through education, events, and outreach.

Volunteer Opportunity:
We’re inviting University of Wyoming students to join us as Community Outreach Volunteers. This role is perfect for students interested in communication, education, marketing, or nonprofit leadership. You’ll help us:

Assist with tabling at events to share our mission

Promote programs like goat therapy, tours, and reading with goats

Help with social media content (photos, stories, short videos)

Work on fundraising projects and donor thank-yous

Support educational visits for schools and youth groups

What you’ll gain:

Hands-on experience in community engagement, nonprofit work, and communications

Opportunities to practice public speaking, event coordination, and digital outreach

Service hours and résumé-building experience

A meaningful role in helping a local rescue thrive

We will post scheduled Farm Work Days on our calendar where volunteers can join us for hands-on projects and animal care. However, farm work days don’t have to wait for a scheduled event—you or your group can plan a day to come out and help whenever it works best for you! Just reach out to us, and we’ll coordinate the details

Looking for a regular, weekly commitment with the Eppson Center? Want to get involved and help seniors, but have a busy life of your own? This is the opportunity for you! Loan Closet attendants are needed from 12-4pm Monday-Friday, with shifts lasting one hour, though you may sign up for as many as you'd like! Our Loan Closet is stocked with essential medical equipment like wheelchairs, canes, walkers, knee scooters, and more, that we loan out to seniors and community members in need. This is a rewarding, social volunteer opportunity, and the best part is that it comes with some down time! Feel free to bring a book or some homework to work on in between helping visitors. 

This is a great opportunity to get to know patrons and do some meaningful work for them. Everyday, we serve dozens of seniors lunch, and this opportunity would give you the chance to brighten their day. 

Hospice of Laramie is looking for volunteers with their physical therapy license to assist with patients who have physical therapy needs. 

We are in need of volunteers to help our Home Delivered Meals coordinator prepare and seal meals to be sent off to our home-bound patrons. This could be a one-time or recurring opportunity depending on flexibility. 

We are looking for volunteers who would be interested in sitting at the front desk as-needed when our receptionist is out!

The Eppson Center has a medical equipment Loan Closet that is open for use by any individual in the community in need of a wheelchair, walker, cane, knee scooter, and more. These items come in and out of the Center on a daily basis, and thus get disorganized over time. This volunteer opportunity would allow flexible scheduling and independence to come in, sort through items, and get everything put away neatly. We are looking for multiple volunteers to come in when and for as long that their schedule allows.

Non-Patient Volunteers can help Hospice of Laramie with grounds keeping, cleaning tasks, event prep, etc. These volunteers would not be interacting with patients, instead helping out the house in other ways. 

Hospice House and Community Volunteers assist nursing staff with comfort and companionship of Hospice of Laramie Patients. Can include playing a card game, talking about their families or experiences, helping with light cleaning tasks, or helping give a caretaker a short break to run to the store or an appointment. 

Please Note: A background check, drug test, and initial online training are required. 

Winters in Laramie can mean cold weather, that famous Wyoming wind, and heaps of snow. Many citizens of Laramie struggle to maintain their driveways and sidewalks during this time of the year and could use a helping hand. If you want to help keep our citizens safe and help those who may not be able to shovel snow themselves, this opportunity is for you!

Winter weather can be unpredictable, and unfortunately there is no set schedule for snow. This opportunity will be a flexible opportunity, with locations needing snow shoveling being updated as requests come in. If you would like to participate in this volunteer opportunity, please respond to this opportunity and the City will reach out to work out where you can provide your valuable time and effort to help those in need. 

The City of Laramie has a limited supply of snow shovels that can be loaned to volunteers during the Winter months.

Join us for a fun bike parade in Laramie Wyoming.  We need 4 Crossing Guards to help the crew get across 2 busy streets that don't have lights. 

At SAFE Project we have internship opportunities for Fall, Spring and Summer! To be an intern at SAFE you would need to go through our state-mandated 40 hour training. 

Our interns work closely with our Volunteer Coordinator to make a schedule and an outline of things they wish to learn during their semester. Internships can be done for school credit or for work experience.
